Internews in Moldova seeks qualified candidates for the position of Grants Manager in Chişinău

The Grants Manager will be responsible for ensuring effective grants management throughout the entire lifecycle of the MEDIA-M project, will facilitate all aspects of the grant selection, awarding and administration processes in compliance with USAID and Internews rules and regulations. Work directly with counterparts at Internews in Washington DC and Arcata offices to ensure a smooth flow of sub-grant requests and documentation from Chisinau to the US and sub-grant funding from the US to Chisinau.

Duties and Responsibilities

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Manage Internews Field Grant facility.

• Maintain regular contacts with Internews sub-grantees with respect to implementation of projects.

• Responsible for developing, translating and updating grant agreements.

• Consult Internews partners on all types of reporting. Ensure the narrative and finance reports are submitted by sub-grantees on a timely basis.

• Participates in the selection of grantees, visits and communicates remotely with grantees regularly to monitor implementation of projects, assists the M&E manager with monitoring and evaluation of the results and impact of grantees’ activities.

• Provide technical assistance, communications and training support to the grantees.

• Responsible for maintaining sub-grant agreements and reporting files.

• Keep Chief of Party (COP) and Deputy COP informed of all challenges, issues and successes of sub-grantees.

• Contribute to Internews program reports.

• Contribute to development of RFAs and other grant-making or solicitation documentation.

• Work closely with the finance staff to ensure that Internews, USAID and local regulations are observed in sub-grantee grant execution.

• Follow changes in USAID, Internews and local requirements.

• Represent Internews at external meetings if assigned by management.

• Assists COP in preparing reports, projections, implementation plans, etc.

• Other tasks as assigned by Internews management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience with grants programs, design and management is preferred.

• Experience working with USAID-funded programs, strongly preferred.

• Willingness and ability to travel around Moldova.

• Bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent. Master’s degree preferred.

• Romanian, Russian fluency and English (reading, writing and speaking) and excellent presentation skills.

• Ability to work professionally as part of a team, meet deadlines, communicate effectively, and deal with diverse partners in challenging environments.

• Strong oral and written communications skills.

• Word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel), e-mail (Microsoft Outlook).
