“Creative Development Association” is recruiting facilitators for the Model United Nations Moldova Conference, MDMUN 2021.
If you believe you are well-informed on topics like international politics, geopolitics, the functioning of the United Nations and diplomacy, this is your chance to put this knowledge to work in an ambitious, world-famous type of project.
Model United Nations Moldova, known as the MDMUN, is an extracurricular conference whose purpose is educating about the activity of the United Nations. Acting as representatives of a country, international agency or a political or social entity, you will take part in debates, individual case studies, and documentation on current topics in geopolitics, environmental protection, human rights, economy, security, society, culture and many more.
This year, the session will consist of two committees, selected from the total of six subsidiaries of the General Assembly:
The United Nations General Assembly First Committee (also known as the Disarmament and International Security Committee or DISEC)
The United Nations General Assembly Third Committee (also known as the Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee or SOCHUM)
After forming the delegations, each of you will be assigned to mentor a certain country. This country will be represented by 4 ambassadors. Your role will be purely advisory, one of „experts” that are available to the delegates in case they need advice on Rules of Procedure, eventual ideas for debating, talking points, negotiating strategies etc. Your mission is to make the process as easy as possible for the delegates, ensuring this through your well-documented assistance on the topic. Nevertheless, final decisions, speeches and the delegates’ activity within the committee sessions will be at the discretion of the participants, which in their turn will be evaluated for presence and participation.
The online conference will take place on October 27 — 30, 2021.
Until then, the CDA and MDMUN team will organise meetings and trainings which will prepare you for the role that you are about to undertake during the conference. The training sessions will take place during October 24 — 25.
